Graveyard Keeper 2 Health Potions — How to Brew & Healing Potion Recipes

Health Potions — How to Brew & Healing Potion Recipes

Quick answer: Health potions can be brewed at the alchemy Laboratory — running out of the starting supply is not a dead end. Recipes: Healing Potion = 1 Stone, Healing Potion II = 2 Stone, Healing Potion III = 1 Stone + 1 Melted Fat (2/4/5 red runes).

Sourcing note: the recipes and rune values below are demo-verified. The retail build has a larger set of mixable results, and no post-launch source has republished the full recipe table — so treat this as the confirmed core rather than the complete retail list.

The three Healing Potion recipes

PotionIngredientsRed runes needed
Healing Potion1 Stone2
Healing Potion II2 Stone4
Healing Potion III1 Stone + 1 Melted Fat5

The rune math: Sand/Clay carry 1 red rune, Stone carries 2, Melted Fat carries 3. Players also report 2 Sand works as a tier-I alternative (same 2 runes) — the data table only lists the Stone route, so treat the Sand route as community-confirmed.

How alchemy works

  • Three-colour rune system (red/green/blue): mix 1–3 ingredients, runes are summed, max 5 per colour per mix.
  • An ingredient must be studied at the Study Table before the Laboratory accepts it.
  • The demo's Laboratory I had only 2 slots → 20 of the game's 29 results were mixable; 6 three-ingredient results were impossible and 9 were gated. TBD: whether the retail Laboratory tiers change this.
  • Mixing drops the result on the floor and pays tech points equal to the runes. Undiscovered results show "?" but can still be made.
  • Flasks: Alchemy Flasks I gives 5, II gives 10 (stored on the Flask shelf).

Other mixable potions (demo-verified)

Damage Potion I (1 Flax), Berserker Potion (1 Cheese), Weak growth elixir (1 Beeswax), Preservative (1 Berry + 1 Flour), Explosive Dust (1 Stone + 1 Zombie goo), Organ Improver (red/white variants), Zombie Motivator Potion (1 Blood + 1 Clay).

Common problems

  • Paper waste: paper is the scarce input — in the demo, studying the wrong items could permanently block alchemy options. Plan your list before you study (see the Study Table page).
  • Alchemy powders were only sold by a town stall, and town stalls could not be built in the demo. TBD: whether retail stalls exist.
  • Insanity is not a potion problem — it's solved by food (Berry Pie −3), beer and sleep. There is no "Insanity potion" in the data. See the insanity guide and energy guide.
