Step 1 — Unlock the technology

Pottery I sits in the Building tab and costs 10 Red + 5 Green tech points. Buying it grants both the Clay Plate recipe and the Potter's Wheel blueprint, and it precedes Brick Making.

Prerequisites: you need the "The Concept of Wood" and "The Concept of Stone" objectives solved, plus four supporting stations in place — Sawhorse, Woodworking Workbench I, Stonemason's Workbench and Chopping Spot.

Step 2 — Build the Potter's Wheel

Cost: 2 Wooden Planks + 1 Stone
Crafted at the Crafting Table, then placed anywhere in your base.

Step 3 — Dig clay

Dig with the rusty shovel at the pit in the southeast of the Yard, inside the Inquisition Base — no river crossing. Each dig costs 6 energy and gives 4 Clay, the pit never depletes, and you can hold the interact key to chain digs. See the clay page for the route and every use.

Storage gotcha: workstations only pull materials from crates in their own area. If the Potter's Wheel can't see your clay, the clay is in the wrong crate — move it next to the wheel or keep it on you.

Step 4 — Make Clay Plates
